What we are (and have been) up to.

With an eye on maintaining a reserve, our focus has been to initiate and keep an ongoing dialogue with the district to keep our aides full time next year, but remain limited due to district-wide constraints.
We’ve meticulously curated some After School Enrichment programs and launched two after school Math challenges:
-
“Noetic Math” challenge (for 2nd & 3rd)
-
“Math Kangaroo” challenge (for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders)
-
With the help of some awesome parents we have also launched “Girls Who Code” for our 4th & 5th grades.
-
Very soon we will be launching a “Lego STEM Club” spearheaded by our science teacher for 2nd graders.
-
We will also be launching a "Reading Challenge" for graders TK - 1st.

We’re currently THE ONLY school in CCUSD to have these programs!

From parent of one of our Mathletes:

"HUGE thank you to each of you on Booster for bringing this Noetic math experience to El Rincon.
It was so amazing to see the group of students gathered today to take a math test for fun(!)."

Math Kangaroo:

Since we LOVE fostering the love of math in our kiddos we did one more enrichment program that'll be coming back next year
and (hopefully) for many years to come!
Girls Who Code:

Breaking down barriers to AI and other emergent technologies!
Developing an AI curriculum that will reach girl students in the U.S; launched two new AI programs and a Data Science course; and are teaching students how to use AI for financial literacy, producing music, and so much more.
In 1995, 37% of computer scientists were women. Today, it’s only 24%. The percent will continue to decline if we do nothing. We know that the biggest drop off of girls in computer science is between the ages of 13 and 17.

We also love to boost the morale of our teachers and staff, while partnering with the fabulous PTA hospitality chair and committee, by pampering them with food and fun happy hours on and off-site. During the Holiday season, we collaborated with room parents on supplementing the funds needed to ensure all our campus staff will receive cash cards as a token of our collective appreciation.

We’re working on campus beautification and brightening our community and culture. This year, via a joint collaboration with PTA, we purchased a new set of speaker/mics system, which was desperately needed, for our school assemblies. We have refreshed our teachers’ workroom from a drab and dark place into a more vibrant working environment and are working on creating a new organizational system for the teachers’ library.
