First Lego League (FLL) Challenge - Robotics Team
FLL is a robotics league based on LEGO where students build and program a robot to perform a variety of tasks with Lego models. This is in partnership with the Culver City High School Robotics Team and the Culver City Educational Foundation.

Math Kangaroo
Math Kangaroo is an international math test that challenges students in a variety of math topics with 24 advanced problems. El Rincon students have ranked in top 10% nationally! This program takes place from February - March.

Lego STEM Club
The Lego STE club is an 8 week program where students work in teams to build various Lego education projects and explain how these models would work in their everyday life. If we can continue the program, it will take place in the Spring trimester.

Reading Challenge
A fun, age-appropriate reading challenge where students are encouraged to read daily!

Noetic Learning Math Challenge (NLMC)
The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC) is a semiannual problem-solving contest for elementary and middle school students. Students have 45 minutes to solve 20 creative and challenging problems independently without a calculator. El Rincon students have ranked in top 10% nationally! This program takes place from October - November.

Girls Who Code
Girls Who Code is an international nonprofit organization that aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science. THis program is offered to 15 students in 4th grade and 15 students in 5th grade in the Winter trimester.

Robotics Club
The Robotics Club has a Fall and Spring session where students will use and build code robots from Lego Prime Kits. Students work as teams to learn the process of building, coding, and explaining the process of robotics.

How to apply:
While we primarily rely on teachers to encourage students who showcase passion for these subjects to apply. Families interested in a program can contact their teacher for information and submit applications through their teacher.
All programming is subject to change based on available funds, teachers, etc. Program spots are limited, but with your support, we can continue to grow and expand these programs.

While all programs are free of charge to the students who participate thanks to our generous donors, we appreciate and encourage donations to continue these programs
